Ankore Kingdom palace under renovation at Kamukuzi Mbarara

Image
The renovated Royal Palace in Kamukuzi for Omugabe of Ankore. The Palace was built in 1950, by Omugabe Charles Godfrey Gatsyonga II.  Omugabe Kahaya was the first king to set base on Kamukuzi Hill, mbarara in 1900.   Currently the Ankore kingdom assets and royal legalia are in the hands of crown Prince Charles Aryaija Rwebishengye Barigye (2011 todate),  heir to Prince John Patrick Barigye (died in 2011) and crown prince of Ankole kingdom, His coronation was nullified by government in 1993, but that appears not to have stopped some people from actually referring to the late Ankole Prince John Patrick Barigye as their king and treating him as such.. The Ankole kingdom like other Ugandans cultural kingdoms was banned by the Obote 1 government. While many other kingdoms were restored after the 1993 restitutions of Cultural Institutions Act, Ankole was suspiciously not allowed to operate again as a kingdom. Prince Barigye thus lived as a ki...

why Marvin Baryaruha never deserved the Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality seat

Image
Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality. My personal opinion I can't imagine myself voting Counsel  Baryaruha Marvin for MP Bushenyi/Ishaka Municipality. Someone who can’t handle a debate, interview or a conversation for 5mins, by the 3rd minute he's dozing to represent me on the floor of parliament? Wapi.. He's always shy, nervous and timid to talk to people yet he wants to represent them. Can someone who can't give a speech in his own words run a constituency? Ironic it is.  Someone once said a shy politician is just like a shy stripper. I'm being genuine here and I'm not stopping anyone bite the bullet and vote for him. Because I'm aware of the inducement handouts. But I'm curious he can win my vote. Marvin is clearly not coherent. He can't even finish a sentence. His wife does the talking for him. Trust me if the wife contested I would vote her cause she's convincing. If you've visited their camp you can bear me witness. But ...

Abu versus Veve for Bushenyi Central Ward

Image
Bushenyi Central Ward This will be a tight race. Two good friends, Abu and Veve are tussling for the same seat (Male Councilor Bushenyi central ward)     Mowenge Abu of Radio BFM Both candidates are sons of the soil but with divergent political views and most importantly personal ambitions which have catapulted them to contest for the position.  They're both qualified for the seat and both can be punctilious and aptitude representatives of the area because they're aware of the issues and problems of Bushenyi Town. I wish both of them success in the forthcoming election and let's expect peace, harmony and Amity among the 2 camps. Nibendeza obuhanguzi....  Vicent Sabiiti  x  Muwonge Abu Abu
