By Muguta Benjamin Kite Following the appointment of bishop Beinomugisha Lambert by pope Francis on April 25th 2020, today 20th June 2020 the archdiocese of Mbarara installed their second archbishop scientifically a new normal that has dawned because of Covid19 pandemic Lambert Bainomugisha has been installed as Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese at Nyamitanga in Mbarara almost two months since Pope Francis appointed him to replace Paul Bakyenga on April 25. Born in 1961, Bainomugisha was ordained priest 30 years later in 1991. He was auxiliary bishop for 15 years, and also served as an apostolic administrator of Hoima Diocese whose then Bishop Deo Byabazeire was ill. Archbishop Bakyenga had clocked retirement age in June 2019 after serving for 21 years, and asked to retire. Bakyenga had succeeded Bishop John Baptist Kakubi who was appointed in June 1969 and resigned in November 1991.
